1. There are four persons in a family. Mother, father, and two children. They have to cross a river and there is only one boat available to do so. The weight of mother and father is 40kg each and the weight of the children is 20kg each. The boat can support a total weight of 50kg. What will be the minimum number of trips the family needs to take to cross the river? Note that there should be atleast one person on the boat to take it from one side to the other.
2. There are 9 balls. One ball has different weight form the other 8 (the other eight have equal weight). The weight can be compared by placing ball on either side of the weighing balance. What will be the minimum number of times the weight will have to be compared to find the odd ball?
3. What will be the minimum number if the number of ball is increased to 31?
4. Which one is heavier, 1kg cotton or 1kg gold?
